How to detach a DB which is involved in replication.

    How do I detach a DB which is involved in replication without deleting all of my replication objects.

     Ideally I would like to temporarily stop replication, detach the DB, copy files from another server, then reattach my DB. At this point I would like to restart replication. However, this appears to be difficult to accomplish without actually removing certain replication objects.

    I believe you need to stop replication. By copying files from another server, I am assuming you are talking about copying the mdf/ldf files. If thats the case then the publisher and subscriber will not be in sync and your replication will fail anyway.
