Hi everyone,
Please i am having trouble connecting my in-house cube using http on the intranet. I have gone through the KB on Microsoft's web site (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324961) without much help on ways of displaying data on the browser. I have also read the only thing from Microsoft that seems to throw a bit of light on this matter which is an article title "How to Connect Analysis Services over the Internet" which was published on December 4th 2001.
I am a developer based in Australia. Any ideas or suggestions would be highly appreciated.
The example that Microsoft gives, uses Excel which is not good enough. I am interested in displaying my cube using browsers such as internet explorer. I can be reached @ ambie@mail.com
Thanks for your anticipated assistance,
Ambie

It shouldn't be too difficult to use Pivot Tables inside a browser. You'll need the ActiveX installed on the client, and it probably only works properly using IE.
Obviously, you'll need some programming in ASP(x) to set-up the ActiveX and the connection, but it should not be too much of a problem.
Another way is see is to use an OLEDB for OLAP connection to the cube and then doing all the presentation stuff yourself in ASP(X).

I came across this freebie from Microsoft a while back-- Microsoft Business Intelligence Portal.
I got it up and running quickly, but we haven't had the need to pursue it much further. It's worth checking out. Good luck!
