How to compress an excel file (Destination) prior to an email send task?

    Hello -

    I have an SSIS package setup with excel as destination and I'm wondering if I can compress the file size prior to an email send task in the same package.

    Hi

    I'm not the SSIS pro, but you could a "Execute Process Task" use a tool (like WinZip) that supports command line arguments to compress your Excel file.

    If you can use third-party solutions, check the commercial CozyRoc Zip Task. You can compress the file with it and it is completely integrated in SSIS.
