hi guys, i've searched around a bit to no avail, here's my question.
i am trying to run an executable file using the Agent. the executable finds a file in a network directory, and copies it into a different directory. the executable runs fine when using my account. when the Agent tries to run the file, we believe it does not have permission to access the source directory, so the job fails.
rather than to go and change the permissions, i'd like to use the 'run as' in the job setup. however, the dropdown box only gives me 1 option to run as, which is 'SQL Server Service Account'. how can i change this option?

You need to create a proxy account. Once you have done that and assigned the proxy account to the necessary jobstep types, you can use it in the Run As dropdown.
