I already tried But when I see the text of procedure using sp_helptext, the procedure is having the old name instead of new name.

For all of the reasons in Jacob's article, I'll copy the definition and use it to create a newly named stored procedure and then drop the old one. Saves on soooooo many headaches.

Wow I can honestly say I've never encountered this and usually simply rename the object via SSMS...I am so glad I came across this post!
