How to Change from Windows to Mixed Mode(Sqlserver) autentication

  I have installed SSMS 2005 in windows Authentication mode..it does not have passwords..

  Server Type : Database Engine

  Server name : MPowerPC/SqlExpress

  Authentication : Windows

  Going thru tutorials I have change it to Sql Sever & Windows authentication by logging to Windows Authentication.

  Then Right Click the Server , Properties, Security ...

  When it is restarted, SQL server throws an error that particular Server cannot be stopped and access denied

  I do not know how to assign a SA password to Mixed mode....

  Please explain...

  I may be wrong, but as far as I know you can't change whether the server is running Windows authentication or mixed mode without reinstalling it.
