  Currentlythe date format is American datetime format with dates begining with month. I just want a format of dd/mm/yy:

  Select convert(varchar(10), CONVERT(datetime, getdate(), 101), 103)

  You can use SET DATEFORMAT. The Date Format comes from your language settings otherwise.
