How to build a report to include hyperlinks to image files

  • I'm trying to build a report which will allow a user to search for a specific person in a table which will display all existing scanned documents pertaining to them. I thought I could build a database table with the person's reference number and name, and the filepaths for all those scanned documents, then report from this setting a hyperlink to pull up that file.

This was a good idea in theory but not quite there. Unless someone can tell me otherwise, the only way I'm going to be able to do this is to upload all the possible files to report server. Is this true? If so, I have a big problem as the upload file button only allows me to upload one file at a time and I have 143,000 in the folder I'm trying to copy up!!! Can anyone suggest any alternative approaches please?

The other problem I'm having is that the images are all .TIF files. I can open the files up in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer but reporting services doesn't seem to recognize I have this on my pc. Do I need to convert them all to something like PDF first instead?

  • Hi.

As I know, you can make a report with inquiry function with RAQ Report.

    An example is shown below:

For specific operations, you can get a free edition and refer to detailed user manual.
