After opened SSMS, clicking View/Toolbox, I found all controls there are grayed out.
Does anyone know the reason?
How do I enable them?
Many thanks in advance for all inputs.

If look closely they are controls for SSIS packages, they are available to be used when you design the SSIS packages in BIDS environment.

If you looked at the

you will see the controls are highlight.
Any explanation?

Hi, Sorry for the delay. And my mistake . Yes you can get those controls enabled. That screen shot shows you things about Database maintenance plans. The way to get to it is On SSMS Go to Management then right click on Maintenance Plans . Click on new Maintenance Plan enter the name of the maintenance plan. Now if you look on the LHS of screen there will be the window of Toolbox pull it up and there are your controls.
