how temp db works while restarting sqlserver

  • how temp db works while restarting sqlserver ..

can some one explain please...i googled but not cleared....

  • I agree that the information is a little bit buried but there's not a whole lot that most folks need to know about TempDB on startup other than this...

tempdb is re-created every time SQL Server is started so that the system always starts with a clean copy of the database.

That information can be found both in Books Online (the help systems that comes with SQL Server) under "Tempdb databases" and when you search for "TempDB" in Google and click on the very first link. Here it is for your convenience.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
