There's nothing wrong with being a late starter. It just means that you know what you want and are willing to wait. Some get lucky early, some never get lucky, and some just make mistakes. Me, I got lucky at 29 when I met and married my husband. I didn't want to marry the wrong person and be miserable in the end. I would have waited forever and remained independent. Imagine how pressured I felt to get married by my early twenties but I stuck to my guns and concentrated on education and career. Marriage (and children) should be considered a lifetime commitment, but unfortunately, that is not always the case.

I'm 29 and I've been married 8 years (June 3, 1995). Got married less than a month after graduating from The Citadel and 10 days before reporting to Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex in Montgomery, Alabama as a 2nd Lt in the US Air Force (seems to be a trend here).
I have two children. Oldest is 5 (will be 6 at end of November) and fancies himself a center midfielder/goalkeeper. Youngest is 4 and wants to be a striker (Daddy, I want to score a goal!). Did I mention soccer (football) season is coming up?

As Dale said, there's nothing wrong with waiting. I got married when I was 38. My first marriage, my wife's second. She had two wonderful daughters by her first marriage. So I got an instant family! Let me tell you, going from never having had sisters to having three females in the house - WOW! Life has become interesting. I've learned to lower the seat. I've learned about those interesting things that happen once a month. I've learned to knock first. I've learned to wait for my turn in the shower (and usually end up with the cold water). I've also learned how wonder it is to have a family to love and to be loved by them.

Yes, SQLBill, you are so right.
...and I've learned that guys love video games, football, beer, and cars. Never mess with any of the above and you'll have an awesome marriage. 🙂

Does the football season ever end? It seems as though it never goes away. Bah, humbug, etc.
Oh, and back on topic: 32. Married (over 5 years), no kids, one dog, two chinchillas.

Hi Thomas,

although I can't understand why 22 people ruuning after just one ball and many thousands watching, I remember a great german soccer player (or trainer) once mentioned:
'After the game is before the game'
So you're right, it really never ends!

Oh, it's a great city to live in , but I don't follow the football. I was always more interested in the cricket and rugby. I used to live less than a mile from Headingley cricket ground, and we could hear the roar from the crowds as Beefy Botham was belting the Aussies all over the park, and then get the repeat of the roar from the radio & television. This was a few years ago, mind. They'd have to be making an awful noise for us to hear it now, since we moved a few miles further out!

Thomas, must be hurting you to watch the cricket at the moment.
When time comes for Rugby, you can rub it in my face as I doubt we will do very well.
Slightly off the topic but.....
