is Certification is necessary for all organizations.?

Heh... that's been the subject of many a heated debate. My experience has been that people with certifications haven't learned much because of the certification. As such, I place no stock in letters after a person's name when hiring.

On the other hand, other people have had a lot more luck with people that do have certifications (as it should be).

The bottom line is that when done correctly, certifications will help you personally both in elevating your knowledge/ability and being able to get the all important interview. Done incorrectly, all you are is a person who can study for and take a test without really learning anything at all. Either way, I'm one of those folks that will find out if you have the correct abilities for the job during the interview... whether you're certified or not.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

I have to agree, I've interviewed people who are MCDBA's who can not explain the difference between RAID-5 and 1+0, or explain the benefits of a SAN versus Direct Attached Storage.

That being said, I have no certifications, have been doing SQL since 6.5 (1998 when I started), and I have had no problem getting interviews and job offers...however, I cannot tell you if I have ever been glossed over for an interview because I did not have any certifications.

Personally, I would rather interview someone with 7 years of real world experience and no cert's, than someone with 3 years with certs.
