I have attempted to install SQL Server 2008 twice so far, but have gotten errors. Would like to try again. Is there a limited number of times that the same product key can be used before I have problems?

As many as needed. The key does not expire. The key is to verify that you are the owner of the data(cd, dvd, etc...) Like a car key and a car, one without the other is useless.
What type of errors are you receiving?

thanks for your help. Here is the forum where I discussed the errors I've been having.

Haven't had issues with SQL 2008 specifically, but I have had cases where the MS license server locked out a particular key. I had un-installed and was trying to reinstall on another machine (so I was within the limits of my license) and all it took was a 5 minute call to MS to have it corrected.
