How Many Instances can be installed on a SQL SERVER ??

    Dear All

    Can anyone tell me that how many Instances can be installed on a SQL SERVER ??. Its a request to all the DBAs.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    According to "Maximum Capacity Specifications" in BOL you can have 16 instances per computer. However, in the real world you would rather buy more servers.
