I have setup several sql 2008 Maintenance jobs. How can I determine how long it takes each job to run to completion? The "View History" option shows the job Start time and Status but not when it ended.
TIA,

BTW: If there is a general sql facility for returning such information for any job, not just Maintenance Plans, I'd love ot know about it.

Try looking at the details of the job, it should show you an elapsed time...

right-click on the maintenance plan and view history - all steps and the duration of each step is in there.

not sure if its the same for 2008 but if you view the job history by right clikcing the on the job (through the job viewer) it should give the total runtime duration of the job.
