Hello everyone - I was wondering if anyone can provide some insight on how indicators work. I read about the percentage rule but when I do the math it doesn't make any sense. Here is an example using percentage rule, with Auto for Min and Max

Can anyone explain why?
Here is the math:

11,237.4420 16.14%5.41%
SUM 207,775.17
MAX 69,622.20
Why would 24,539 be on RED?

Indicators are just like conditional formatting. Your text showing the table in this post is all mixed up. Why don't you leave some space to see the separate columns?

if the indicators act similar with conditional formating then why the need for percentage values? if we select numeric then indeed it will act as conditional formating based on numeric values; but when percentage is used it should select values based on percentage of that value from the total.
It doesn't work that way.

OK - after some time we figured it out.
Basically Microsoft it will divide the results in the intervals specified in the options ( Red > 60, Yello < 60, etc) and based on the indicators value it will determine the state.
It will be easier to see it if you sort the data first - top 30% will be in Green, next top 30% in Yellow and so forth.
Kind of like a percentile - based on the max of you series.
