Hi, as an english speaker who lives in italy, I get constantly plagued by sites that refuse to work in English. somehow, even though I set the internet options to english languages, they detect that I have an italian ip address and constantly come up with italian websites... eg>
Google -> click google in english. every time I click a new browser.
Avis car rental, you're renting a car in italy, so you want the webpage in italian right? wrong.
MSN, Yahoo! ... everything detects that I am in italy and gives me the page in italian. Most language dependent sites only allow other languages if you go in through the US or UK pages but then offer you details & drivers of us and uk products only, eg. Ebay, Canon and prices in Dollars or Sterling.
Personally, I prefer websites that don't try to guess who you are or what you are doing or try to force you to work in a particular way.
