How do you determine the number of storage arrays for a SQL instance?

  We are trying to set up SQL warning/critical some alerts in a monitoring tool. Some settings, such as Queue Length, specify the Warning level should be 5 * number of arrays. How do I determine that number? (I'm pretty new to this).

  Basically: There is no way to do so. And, disk queue length is among the performance counters I rarely use. I would recommend that you take a look at Brent Ozars How to prive it's a SAN problem[/url], which gives some useful information.

  Disk Queue length is pretty meaningless, has been for years especially with SQL Server
