Hi,
Well you can attach your remotely stored databases to your Enterprise Mgr. To do that please do the following.
The way around this is to use the Client Network Utility (choose Start | Programs | Microsoft SQL Server). Select the Protocol which is in use by your network. Then Click on “Alias” Tab, Click ADD, Under network libraries select the TCP/IP. In Connection Parameters give the IP address of that remote server and Click OK.
Now Open your Enterprise Manager. If you have created SQL Server Group then select that and right click that group, Select New SQL Server Registration. Select the server give user name and Password and click Ok.
After you have completed the above procedure then you can see that your registered server under your SQL Server Group.
to create an alias for your server. Click on the Alias tab and then click the Add button. Identify your SQL Server in the usual way. Then, register the alias in Enterprise Manager. At this point, the same SQL Server is registered twice, but with different registration properties (for example, with different User IDs and Passwords or as named pipes versus TCP/IP).
Happy Monitoring
