I'm a software tester, and I just got tasked with figuring out methods for testing the work of the Business Intelligence and Reporting group. Does anybody have any methods or procedures that can be applied to testing SQL reports? I would like some insight. Any insight is appreciated.

That is an interesting problem. From a basic level, you could validate the XML structure of the rdl or rdlc files. I am not aware of any APIs or emulators that would be useful. I look forward to some others feedback. 😎

Exactly what are you testing for? Accuracy? Efficiency? Legibility? Something else?
