I have experienced large CPU spikes when reports are running.
You can check the reportserver database for report execution times and then compare that to your cpu spikes.

try this
1.
Start Business Intelligence Development Studio, click Help, and then click About Visual Studio.
2.
In the list of installed products, click Reporting Services. The version information appears in the product details section of the dialog box.
