I have a cluster 2005 box that I move the tempdb to another drive and added a new ndf file to point to another drive and all is well but, I have this white box with a red X inside of it next to the database, sqlagent, jobs, any folder or DB in object explorer details and i have never in my 10+ sql server knowledge ever seen this. Does anybody know what it is and what it means?
many thanks,
lk

That looks like something wrong with SSMS, that it's missing its icons.
The databases all open and are queryable? I don't think it's a problem with the server

I can open the db, query, everything seems normal, just have never see this and wanted to put it out there in case it was serious. Thanks for looking at this with me! 🙂
