I'm getting High Disk Queue length alarm from Quest Spot light while Full backup is running. The full backup size of all databases is 15GB together. Is this normal behaviour of having High Disk queue length during Full backup?
Or Do I need to consider my system as having IO bottleneck?

YES
The backup is probably reading and writing to the same disk.
Separate the data and backup folders to different disks.

We have Separate disk for Backups. Data, log and Backups are on different drives and all the drives are on SAN.

You need to investigate the queue length in more detail on a disk by disk basis. Are the the long queues for reads or writes? Are the long queues on the disks containing the database files or on the disks that you are backing up to?

Hi there,
Can you confirm for me the disk queue length that is being reported for your backup drive?
You can verify this information by using the windows performance monitor and specifically isolate the disks/LUN’s you are interested in.
How many disk drives make up the LUN that is used for backups?
Cheers,
