High Disk I/O performance

  • Hi,

can anyone tell me a better configuration for better I/O performance.

Single RAID configuration (RAID 10) with large number of disks

    or

Multiple RAID configurations with small number of disks

(I have 25 Disks to use)

    which one is better..??

    Thank you

  • Personally, I prefer multiple volumes, as long as they are all Raid 10.

  • Multiple separate RAID arrays is best. The log and data files should be physically isolated from one another.
