Hiding Salary from employees according to the company´s hierarchy

  • Hi All,

In SSRS i have the below scenario can any one help on this...

    EmpID EmName Occupation Salary

    1 Jon CEO 9000

    2 Pires Manager 8000

    3 Sasha Director 7000

    4 Silva IT Manager 6000

    5 Bilu IT Support 5000

    6 Jane IT Support 4000

1.CEO Jon can see all staff salary of the company.

    2. Pires Manager can not see Jon´s Salary, but he can see all staff salary below him.

3.Sasha Director can not see Jon´s and Pires´Salary, but she can see all staff salary below her

    4. Silva can not see Jon´s and all other salary above him.

    5. all the other below can not see other salary above them, but they can see the salary of each other without any problem.

So if Sasha tries to see Pires or Jon´s salary she will not be able to see when she selects in the dropdown list, she can try to see, but she should not have access to it somehow and the same with others...hierarchy ...:-)

  • Gosh... this is a pretty easy task to do in a T-SQL stored procedure. Can one be used here?

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
