There are different "kind" of logs in SQL Server. Which log you are talking about?

When you create a database you are required to create a transaction log as part of creating the database, so I don't think you're talking about that. The SQL Server error log and the agent error log are created for you as part of the install, with no actions required on your part, so I don't think you're talking about that. I'm unsure then what you're looking for.
