Abso-freakin-lutely an "error table" would be awesome. When you think about it, implementing error trapping and handling in SQL Server isn't *that* difficult but I can't tell you how many times I've wanted that SSIS-like capability of redirecting faulty rows while letting the rest go through in a situation where an SSIS package is not possible or practical.

I don't have an opinion on the error table. However, I do have an opinion about what you are doing.
Using this forum to point out something like this, and to ask for others to consider voting their choice is absolutely a good thing to do. I never heard of Connect. It isn't something I would use. Why, because I understand how one vote is meaningless. You took that concern and nuked it! You saw something of value, brought it to the attention of a very large group of people, and then you asked that group to consider our thoughts and vote.
If it isn't clear, I really like what you did, but I really, really, really like how you didn't tell us to vote your way. You simply asked us to consider what we thought.
Congratulations on using the power of the group effectively and fairly.

Windows 8, I think I heard of that once. Isn't the real product name Vista II though?
If I recall correctly, Microsoft was making claims about how well it was selling before Thanksgiving. Then afterwards, they admitted that Vista II was selling worse than Vista I.
Besides, will SQL Server run on an IOS knock-off tablet anyhow?

Steve this is absolutely a great idea. I would love to see create and replace added. The RedGate sponsored sites would be AWESOME places to get some real solid community feedback. Steve you are the man.

I also have made my career with Microsoft tools and they've done a lot right over the years. Yes, they've stumbled but they've always seemed to pick up the ball again. I've never been one to listen to the haters but since Bill has left it does feel like the company arrogance is on the upswing. The powers that be at Microsoft appear to be riding their own hobby horse, marketing features that are useless to common folk while ignoring features that would make a lot of user's lives much easier (CREATE OR REPLACE, anyone?).
Microsoft doesn't seem to want to listen any more. They didn't listen to customers with regard to Windows 8 and it's flopping. They didn't listen to customers with Windows Phone it's not doing well in the market. The Visual Studio 2012 UI looks like monochrome capitalized CRAP. Developers hate it and I refuse to upgrade to it. The new XBox One isn't backward compatible with all of the XBox games people already have. Yawn! One of the Connect issues can no longer be voted on after no response from MS for 8 years!!! I won't hold my breath on these issue and I see very little reason to upgrade to any of this.

I did not think you were implying anything. I think you were "just right" as it says in the "Old Hat New Hat" Dr Seuss book! Well, OK, except I am not calling you old!!!
You seem to always come across appropriately. That is tough to do in today's PC world.

I don't know enough to chime in on a lot of your points. In regards to XBox One, I sincerly hope it flops and flops hard and fast.
Today I have three XBox 360's in my home. When I want to play a game I play on mine. That means if my son wants to play a game of mine, he can grab it and play it in another room. We are a family, we should be able to purchase a game disk and play it on any machine we own. The idea that I will have to pay the same outrageous price for a game and buy it three times so my kids can play it means I won't be giving Microsoft any more money.
As a counter point, when I purchase a game add-on I can download it on another machine and play it there as long as my account exists, but I have to be logged on for anyone else to play. This prevents me from downloading it everywhere, and still means I might need to buy a COD expansion map twice, but I think that is OK if I expect my son to play the same new maps as I am on another machine. I bought two copies of COD:BO2 so we could do just that, so buying a second map pack is well within what I expect to have to do. We own three copies of Minecraft so we can play it on any machine, but it was $20!
I will NOT purchase XBox One if I have to shell out $180 for every game I buy so I can play it on whatever machine I want that I own in the home I own.

Whilst on the topic of upvoting useful functionality... things like adding native alternating row colours in ssrs would be super handy...
SSRS has fallen by the way side a bit and getting features that reduce development overhead would be great - please consider voting for it!

Not something I have done a lot of, but it is already possible to do that in SSRS. Of course, it takes about 5 seconds in any other reporting product, and it took me hours to figure out how to do it in SSRS, so it does require improvement. If you were not aware it could be done, Google it for a solution. If you knew it could be done but that it was unnecessarily difficult, yeah, I completely agree.

It also falls apart when you're using groups that have odd numbers of members within them. In recent years I've moved away from styling tables like that anyway, done badly it can be a headache inducing barber shop pole.
On another note, Steve, SQL Server for 20+ years on only 2 operating systems? Surely you would have used multiple versions of Windows NT, 95, 98, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Windows 7, Server 2008 and Server 2012? Maybe you were referring to running it on OS/2 and on Windows but not counting different versions.
