Help with replacing a char inacolumn

    I have a column with name as col1 with values as

    'eg'

    'bc'

    'bg'

    'bcgha'

    'bdg'

    'adef'

    uijk'

    uiop'

    I need to replace only first character witha blank if the first character is 'b'. Can anyone please help me with the sql. TIA
