I'm stuck with a report not being able to use the URL parameter.
I get the error:
The report parameter is read-only and cannot be modified.
I do have a prompting text for the report, and I've checked the XML and there are <PROMPT></PROMPT> tags!

here is what i found:
Explanation
This error occurs when you attempt to set a value for a parameter that is read-only.
User Action
Search Books Online for more information about the parameter. There are conditions that you can control that determine whether the parameter is read-only.

hi
maybe in the report parameters you didn't write the prompt text and choose the default value=non-queried???

Well, I got it to work finally. I knew the report worked since it was a copy, and that original report was working. I had to set the parameter back to a dataset, run the report that way, then take the values away in order to look at the URL. It worked, so that's all I needed.
Oh, I had to delete the files from the server first too. Seemed like sometimes the deploy didn't overwrite what was up there.
Thanks!
