I found a dangerous build on one of our SQL boxes. Per the guidance here I wanted to apply CU 11, but it is no longer available. We were trying to avoid applying a service pack to stay minimally invasive since we will be replacing this box with a 2016 instance in a few months. What would be the next best (or I should say "safest" patch to apply)? It is a mirrored instance and I planned to follow the guidance here (note: there is no witness).

You are three service packs, and 2 hotfixes behind what is available.
I think your "next best" is to apply SP4. There's little advantage to delaying the inevitable.
