when amending the max memory settings for our server i set the value (via gui), didn't realise that the value was highlighted and knocked the keyboard as i pressed enter and set it to 0!!!!!
Can't connect to fix this:
a connection was established with the server but then an error occurred during the login process - no process was on the other end of the pipe
any ideas on how i can reset this????

Can you connect to SQL using SQLCMD you could then execute the memory change setting.

cheers for the replys guys, panic now over. Couldn't connect via sqlcmd so thought i'd close all services (ie RS etc) in order to claim as much memory back as i could, still no luck, tried to restart sql service and it crashed the server 🙁
Had to reboot and low and behold i managed to get connected and reset the figure - lesson to be learned there :w00t:

That's the good thing about Microsoft product, is that they mostly get fixed by a reboot, unlike Suse or RedHat.
