Having a problem in starting up profiler

    I am getting the following error message when trying to start profiler.

    The procedure entry point ?GetReplayParmsFromUser@@XXXXXXXXXX__@@PAVCTraceConnection@@XXXXXXXXX@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library PFUTIL80.dll.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Did you try reinstalling the sql server objects (qa, em...).

    I haven't tried to reinstall qe or em, do you think I should give it a shot? I don't have any problems with either QE or EM.

    DLL problem is either a bug or a bad driver version. Reinstall might take care of it.

    I was able to start profiler by simply copying profiler.exe from a machine where its working.

    So it means something's corrupt. I'd strongly suggest reinstalling it as there might be some other problems that you haven't discovered yet.
