Has log-shipping been marked for deprecation?

    with the introduction of basic AO groups in standard edition of sql server 2016 I would say LS is pretty much redundant 🙁

  • That's what I thought- and yes, there is an argument for it being a bit redundant if Basic Availability Groups prove to be any good, but so far they look quite limited, although of course that may change.

  • it's still CTP at present and I think will change, the CTP is a taster of what's coming 😉
