I'm putting together a hardware document for a new enterprise data warehouse environment I'll be building. I need to create a document with the server specs for our project plan. I've done specs before but I've never really created an official document and I want to put something official together. Does anyone have any examples that I can maybe use or follow? They don't have to be specific to a warehouse.
Thanks

Take a look at some of the white papers out there they usually have a basic format you can use.
My advice is to follow the general guidelines of having three main sections:
I. Introduction
scope
II. Detailed "stuff"
stuff
stuff
stuff
III. Summary/conclusion
The old adage: "Tell them what you are going to tell them, Tell them, Tell them what you told them" seems to work most of the time.
The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival.

This is good advice, thanks.
