Great Opportunity-Los Angeles-Sr. DBA/Rockstar

  • I’m a retained recruiter who is currently looking for an exceptional SQL Server DBA for a client in Los Angeles(Mid-Wilshire/Koreatown area).  According to them, they need a “SQL Server guru" (I hate that word) in this position.  Tons of stored procedures, query optimization, search optimization, cross-referencing, etc.  They went so far as to say that some of the things they’re doing, even Microsoft claims “can’t be done”.  Obviously, then, I need more than a run-of-the-mill DBA and the person who fills this role will be very high profile in the corporate structure.

It’s for a company who has an established product/service pertaining to controlling the costs of medicine and specifically addressing the new Medicare Part D drug program.  Essentially, people can go online, input their prescriptions and their providers and, through much SQL Server wizardry, find the cheapest mix of provider plans & generic or similar prescription drugs, so they can then take their results back to their doctors for further consultation.  As you can imagine, with all the plans and all the drugs on the market… we’re talking about a LOT of information.

Client Summary: Our client is an emerging yet key player in the drug, plan, and pharmacy comparison decision support market.  With six years of success in the market and a solid client list, they are positioned for significant growth for years to come.  Those interested in a start-up feel with the stability of an established company should take a look at this great opportunity.

  • I am in Sri Lanka, Can I appli for this job or this is only for LA

  • They'll consider relocating people within a 250 miles radius(California, Las Vegas) but they need to move on this quickly, so I'm quite sure Sri Lanka is out of the question for this position.

  • I'm a 26 year veteran who pretty much wrote the book on "can't be done"......My question is are they willing to pay for it? I have a very high bill rate, and generally people rethink the level of experience they need when they hear it.....
