Got an email from a recruiter today...

  • My client are looking for strong business acumen and the ability to talk technically and within the business conveying SQL in Lehman’s terms.

    I hope the client is not a financial institution...

  • Now that's funny!

    I'm having visions of the ability to talk about SQL being the primary requisite for the job.

  • I pictured Jens Lehmann when I first read it, although have since seen he has an extra "n" in his name

    (he's a soccer goalkeeper famous for shouting a lot and kicking goalposts in anger, so that mental image was also amusing)

  • The client can't be that picky if they hired this recruiter. Talk about poor communication....

    what wrong with we Americanz english? (JK)

    Give the recruiter a break, it's not his fault there are so many exceptions to the rules (english literary rules).

    Layman = Leighman, why not?

    And shouldn't it be Layperson in this PC culture we now live in?

    You mean they are as bad as British ones?

  • Why there would be a need to explain SQL in layman’s (Lehman’s) terms?

    Are the business people looking at stored procedures to try to figure out what they do?

  • No, they're looking at Stored Procedures to try to figure out what Lehman does!

  • Maybe referring to Lehman Brother's who filed for bankruptcy. Try talking to those guys!
