Gurus,
I know BOL is the best unbeaten asses for MSSQL concepts. Inspite of that, i want to understand all the dmvs and their relationship with the other dmvs..
My problem is that even if I know a DMV by name, if i dont understand what are the column definition very precisely, I cant use that dmv in my real life. specially, my knowledge is in not useful while produciton isses.
I want to have a good bookish knowledge of dmvs based on the area. (databases, server wide maintenance, database mirroring, etc) I downloaded the ER diagram of the DMVs. but, it is a maze... so please any kind hearted person out there.. please suggest be good books for understading dmvs very precisely..
SQL 2008 R2 suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Just building on previous comments here is an example of how to use DMVs. The beauty of this particular example is that you may use the created applet for years to come.

Here are a few more. Tim Ford and Louis Davidson have great books on the topic.
