I have been working with SQL Server 2000 for past 2 years. I was working with Programming side basically. I have worked on some DBA activities too.I have started working with SQL Server 2005.
I have planned to do a certification. Which one will be better MCDBA or MCITP ????
Please give me a suggestion

I would say, it depends. In my shop, I have sql from 7, 2000 and 2005 and most of the shops will have various flavors. The best way is to start with MCDBA and do the sql2005 upgrade later since then you can work on different flavors without any issue. For instance, lot of sql2000 features are either changed / not available in 2005.
Thx

Depends on how well you feel with sql2000.
I've been working with sql2000 for the past 4 years and I recently started taking the mcts/mcitp exams as I don't think the mcdba is going to give me a lot, while learning sql2005 will. Apart from that, the transfer to sql2005 is pretty unavoidable in the long run.
