Getting Rid of Datasets no longer needed

  • has anybody been able to delete or drop a dataset for a report.  I did one that I dont want to use anymore and now i cant get rid of it and the report wont run properly now because it says its not connected.  grrrrr

any help would be grealy appreciated.

  • A simple way is to open de rdl file in notepad and remove the tag with everything in it.   I am sure there is another way, but hey, this works.

  • If you are on the Data tab of Report Designer in Visual Studio, there is a "Delete Selected Dataset" button beside the Dataset drop-down list.

Is that what you were looking for?
