Getting error while carrying out replication.(regarding server name)

    Hi we have been asked to carry out replication but we are getting error that we can not get logged/connect to server by using its alias or IP address .Server name has to be provided to get logged/connected into server.

    Originally we use to connect to sql server by using its IP address as we were getting error instance doesn't exist when we use the name of sql server. So we started to use IP address to carryout our task

    BUT now for replication we are require to enter sql server name only and not its alias or IP address .

    So it please provide solution for it

    It is a requirement for replication that you must use the actual servername.

    Did you register your server with same name, if no mean please register & test it.
