Getting ERROR MESSAGE while opening SSIS packages in BIDS

  • Error1Error loading ProvOutbound.dtsx: Failed to decrypt protected XML node "DTS:Password" with error 0x8009000B "Key not valid for use in specified state.". You may not be authorized to access this information. This error occurs when there is a cryptographic error. Verify that the correct key is available. D:\NM_Encounters\SSIS_NEW_FINAL_PKGS\SSIS_NEW_FINAL\ProvOutbound.dtsx11

Everytime I open ssis packges in BIDS I get above Error..

The package runs fine both via jobs and manually in BIDS.

Now Every ssis packages that I open in my DEV and PROD server through BIDS, I get the same error for all the packges.........

  • One thing I found that when I removed COnfig file from the package configuration, the error goes away. so I think it has to do with Config file and specially may be password.

The things I have value for in confgi file are

    Servername

    UserName

    Password

    Drive

    ProfileName

Drive and ProfileName are in Variable..................

all the packages Protection Level is set to "EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey"

  • Hi set the protection level of package to DontSaveSensitive.

    Regards,

    Mahesh

  • Thanks Mahesha, THis one works......I tired it before as one of my collegue suggested.

Also When I remove config file from package configurations, the error goes away.........

ALso, When I remove config file fron package configurations, and then readd the same configure file as reuse existing and save the package it works........

I want to know what is happening here..............

  • Hi Can you check your config file once about what protection level settings are given

    #1. Before removing and

#2. After adding it again by selecting reuse existing.

    Regards,

    Mahesh
