Good advice Brian, lots of things I'd not picked up on before about exam technique which will certainly help me to focus when I come to do my MCPs. Thank you !

You're welcome. And if you have suggestions that you didn't see in the article that has helped you in your pursuit of certification, please post them. We can all learn from the experience of others.

Brian,
Good article.
Yes. When I decide to go for a test, I schedule it. Nothing like having the cash already spent to give me incentive.
Tests for similar subjects I will schedule closer together (how much difference is there between Win2K OS systems?). Always group similar tests together. I took my SQL Server tests within two weeks of each other. I was confident I knew the material and I could not see the point of waiting. When it came time to take the OS exam I gave myself another month, but then scheduled the OS exams together (I was taking the MCDBA and MCSE tests together).

Brian,
Excellent article. I purchased the study material for my first MCSD exam about one month ago. However, I've had a hard time getting started. This set me on the right path.
Thanks

This is where the technique used by Patrick and by my alphabet soup certification friend is invaluable. By scheduling the test, you've got incentive.

Thanks for the great article. I think you may have just given me motivation to get back on the 'CERT' track!

Excellent information. I too have been "thinking" about certification and the clarity provided inthis article has given me the motivation to go the next step.
I wonder if there is a chance to "update" the information in the article, say every 6 mths as there is always new software / exams coming out.
Again thank you for your encouragment,
