is there anyway to get a list of all the queries currently running on sql server which are affecting tempdb and the users/login ids for those queries?
Only those queries which can cause tempdb size to grow should be listed.
is this possible?

Take a look at this blog post as a starting point:

From the query there you could filter out records where the objects (internal/user) allocated are significantly larger than the objects deallocated over time
