Hi
We produce several reports each week/month and I'm investigating the possibility of automating these either completely or partially.
Some are as simple as running a query and displaying the results under headed columns in an Excel spreadsheet. Others may involve using conditional formatting or, at present, a fair amount of copy/pasting into various worksheets within a workbook.
I am able to set up integration services to perform the queries and output the results into a text format or even email it.
I'd now like to format the output, perhaps even create charts etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Can Integration Services even perform such tasks?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Cheers,
Chris

Is Reporting Services not an option for you? It does most everything you are asking for.

Hi. I was looking at reporting services previously. The problem is I think I need a combination of the 2 to email reports and so on. How would you recommend doing this?
Thanks

Reporting Services has the functionality to send reports via email subscriptions and rendered in a variety of formats. The only thing I see in your original request that would be problematic is a multi-sheet spreadsheet.
I would put a question in on the Reporting Services forums or read up on it in BOL.
Thanks,

Thanks. I've been looking at this today and have a couple of easy reports done and subscribed to. The more complex ones should be fun! :w00t:
