There's a fourth method. Develop it yourself with Visual Studio .Net and the Microsoft Office developer tools. I developed a C# application that read an Excel file and put events in the Outlook calendar.

We are using Ecrion to produce reports. The report designer is similar to the usual Office tools but it can be a steep learning curve for more complex documents. There is a lot of power there though once you figure it out.
