General Question

• Hi All,

Please answer below questions:

Which companies uses SQL server dedicatedly ?

Which applications uses SQL Server dedicatedly, like SAP uses oracle, which one uses SQL Server ?

Thanks and Regards!!

Thank You.

Regards,
Raghavender Chavva

• Why are you asking?

SAP's not dedicated to Oracle. It runs on SQL Server too.

What is it that you would like to ultimate gain by knowing those companies list?

I don't understand where is it useful to you? If you could explain, that would be help.

But any way here are some of them, Microsoft Corporation, Nasdaq, Bovespa (Brazilian Stock Market)

Verizon, Best Buy, UNESCO, Fuji Film, Maclaren Mercedes (Formula 1 Division), SIEMENS, Samsung,

Infosys and last but not least Myself.

Ah... got it and now I get it. Put that way (and now you know why we wanted to know), it's a great question that I'd now like to know the answer to myself. Guess we both have some research to do.

Ya know... if we all pitched in, we could easily turn this thread into a real source of such information. In fact, I'll start a new post called "Companies that Use SQL Server" (so that the search engines can easily find it) and post the link here... gimme a couple of minutes to do that.

• In fact... I have an even better idea. I'll see if I can get Steve to bring it up on the site as a "Friday Poll". That way, we can reach everyone and turn this into something huge.

Like I said... maybe I can get Steve to turn it into a Friday Poll so we can reach the most people.

Our questions of "Why do you want to know this" must surely come off as a bit brusk and they typically drive people away. I'm tickled that Raghavender stuck around long enough to actually give a good reason for wanting to know this.

Hey Raghavender!!!! Great question and great answer!!! Thanks for the feedback and sorry if it seems like we were busting your chops. It's sometimes real difficult to ask a return question without it seeming to be a bit "chippy" (especially in the somewhat monotonus tone typically involved in forums) and I for one really appreciate your answer.

If it's ok with you, I'm going to include your good answer in the Friday Poll I write up for Steve.

• Hi Everybody,

Thank you very much for your response and including my topic in the Friday's poll. So that if anybody like me who is working on SQL Server and does not know the list of companies which uses the SQL Server databases may get a lot help, and they cannot be shy while discussing with others regarding their technologies.

Thank you Very Much again.

Thanks and Regards!!

Thank You.
