I recently read Daemon, which I really enjoyed.

My son and I are both keen on local author Terry Pratchett's Discworld series.

Game of Thrones was a great tv series. Can't wait for series 2. They did for a great job of bring the books to life.
I love the books, currently reading Book 5, which just came out.

Take 1 Kindle. Load all of Joe Abercrombie's fantasy novels.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the read.

I highly recommend Containment by Christian Cantrell. It's a story about a human colony on Venus. I couldn't put it down and ended up finishing it before the day was over.

The Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld is wonderfully imaginative and enjoyable. While aimed at the younger set, it still stands on its own as some of the best Steampunk I have come across, and it's been a lot of fun sharing the books with the whole family.

Christmas 2010, my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and her family got me a Kindle. Before the end of the year, I discovered/rediscovered the Baen Free Library, ManyBooks and Project Gutenberg. (Of course, I have some even GEEKIER books on there as well!) So, yeah, Kindle is definitely my geeky media of choice for 2011.

I've gotten away from sci-fi/fantasy the last few years. I always favored Isaac Asimov.
My current read is a colleciton of Zane Grey stories; definitely not geeky.

I read the Hunger games Trilogy, which may be older than 2011 but that's when I read them. Outstanding books and I can't wait for the movie. Stargate Universe was sadly cancelled too soon. It was an amazing series that was edgier and bolder than other Stargate shows and is truly great scifi even if it was shortlived. Source Code was also quite interesting! Falling Skies is failing to keep me entertained.

I've been reading through the Sword Of Truth series for several months. Also, from these books the TV series Legend Of Seeker was adapted.
