Hi Everyone,
No, I am not in any problem, fortunately all of my ETLs, SPs, Functions, and Views are working fine and my development is paying me off nicely. Today, I was wondering is SQL a perfect standard, or are there chances of improvements, what areas, and what can actually SQL be 5-10 years down the line?
Please pop-out any idea that comes into your mind about the improvement/change required in SQL.
I dunno what Jeff is going to say about this post.

There's always work being done and I'm sure we'll see more enhancements to SQL to handle common tasks as it evolves.
I think SQL works great, but there are always things that could be better. Adding CTEs and PIVOT have done great for SQL. I could see some hierarchy changes coming at some point, and possible more ways that we summarize and aggregate data.

There will definitely be changes as the way we use data changes. I think most will be fairly minor, changes to aggregations and different functions like Row_Number, Rank, and other functions will probably show up.
The other changes like spatial and heirarchy types will probably revolve around more use of the CLR, whether good or bad.
I know SQL Server does not implement all the standards so I would see more standards implemented as well.
