Hi,
This may be an irrelevant question.
But with the new performance analysis and monitoring products available in the market for SQL Server like PA, SQL Monitor etc. and may be more to come, what will be the future roles of DBAs. Because DBAs may not be spending more time on analysis part. This may lead to less work for DBAs and hence less DBAs?
Seeking advise from experts. Thanks in advance.

Last year I went to an Oracle Exadata presentation. They say the future for DBAs will be plugging ethernet and power chords. 😛
