Hi,
Read today about a new product from FusionIO called directCache. I was wondering if someone has any expeience with this product ?
It's a filter driver that is installed on any server equiped with a FusionIO card. It will then use the IO card to cache the most used blocks from any other disk connected to the server. The product is compatible with SAN, multipathing and multipathing which leads me to believe that this will be a really usefull product for clustered SQL servers that needs better performance.

One thing I thougth about after my previous post, was the effect of adding more RAM to the server instead of using the directCache technology. Apart from the obvious problem of fitting huge amounts of RAM in smaller server, which is the better solution ?

I think there is no need of more memory in the case of Direct Cache
